Mike got the job!!!

Hi, Guys:

Mike has been super busy getting things going as far as his police stuff done. He asked that I put it on the blog so that you all would get an update with what is going on.

Well, he applied to be a cop at Arcadia, Upland, Fontana, and Ontario. All of the departments really liked him. In fact, Upland even went as far as to tell him not to go to Arcadia because their department was better and were going on and on about Mike being at the top of their list and so on and so on... Anyways, Arcadia's paperwork and tests were all done and all of a sudden, Mike was told that they weren't hiring anymore because of a budget freeze but if something comes about, then he will get a phone call. Our hearts completely sank to the ground. Then, he called over to Upland, and they weren't hiring anymore either!! Then, Fontana called and said the same thing and so did Ontario.

That night, we prayed for help because he really wanted to be a cop and we needed this for our family. Then, the next day, the hiring sergeant called Mike and said that he feels like someone is watching over him because the recruit that was at the Academy quit!!! Can you believe that?!?!?! Now, there was a spot available. HOWEVER, there were three applicants that the Chief was going to choose between. (Mind you, the Chief as never met Mike or the other two applicants. All he has were applications and results from all of the tests.) We were on pins and needles. We just kept praying and praying that Mike would get the job. WE WAITED THREE DAYS!!! Finally, we get a call and it was the sergeant. We were bracing ourselves. He said that of all three, Mike was the best and he offered the job to him!! He went in the next day and signed the papers.

YEAH!!!! We are so excited. Mike is doing something he has always wanted to do and he is really excited about the whole thing. God has blessed our family so much.

Well, today is Mike's first day at the Academy and there has been so much to do this past week to get ready. From buying supplies and getting things made and sewing on nametags.... the list just goes on. We got up at 4:3o this morning. We were both very anxious, but it's good. I made his lunch and then the girls got up because they wanted to see their Daddy off on his first day.

He is at the Academy right now, probably getting his head chewed off (HA HA HA), but probably having a great time too.

Love you guys!

Congratulations Mike!
Hopefully they're not drilling you too hard at the academy.
